WordPress sends spam
Bounce messages for unknown emails, warnings from the host or rejected business emails may indicate abusive mail delivery. Resolving this requires identifying the triggering script and other access paths.
I stop the identified mail delivery, clean up the WordPress installation and assist with the necessary requests for removal from blocklists. The cleanup costs 280 € net at a fixed price.

Possible signs of mail abuse
The following symptoms may also have other causes. Mail and server logs show whether the sending is triggered by the website.
Bounces for unknown emails
Your inbox contains bounce messages for emails that you cannot associate with your own sending.
Your own emails are rejected
Receiving servers reject messages or classify them as spam. The error message may contain the name of a blocklist used.
Warning from the host
The provider reports unusual mail volume, restricts sending or requests a technical review.
Increased server load
Extensive sending can cause additional server load. Load figures alone do not prove mail abuse.
How unwanted sending is handled
Determine the sending path
I analyse the available mail and server logs and assign the messages to the triggering script or account.
Clean up installation
Detected sending scripts, malware and unauthorised access are removed. The identified access path is closed.
Renew access credentials
Affected passwords, keys and WordPress access credentials are changed. I then check whether further unwanted messages are being sent.
Process blocklists
Once the cleanup has been completed, the prescribed delisting procedures are initiated for relevant blocklists.

Frequently asked questions
How long does an entry remain on a blocklist?
The procedure depends on the respective operator. Some entries expire after a period without suspicious activity, while others require an application. A fixed processing time therefore cannot be promised.
Can regular mail delivery continue in the meantime?
This depends on the affected domain, IP address and blocklist. Following the technical review, a suitable interim route for business emails can be agreed; setting it up is a separate service.
How is the access path determined?
Available access, file and mail logs are compared chronologically. This may indicate a vulnerable component or compromised access credentials.
What does the cleanup cost?
The complete cleanup costs 280 € net at a fixed price. A preliminary assessment costs 50 € net and is credited towards a subsequent cleanup.
